“Pongal is a harvest festival during which people gather to worship the soil, mother nature, and farm animals in appreciation of their contributions to their well-being and prosperity. The celebration of Pongal is one of joy, harmony, and gratitude. The celebration exemplifies the prevailing Indian cultural belief that God is preeminent and deserves praise for the bounties he bestows on humanity. The Pongal event was organised by the Firebird Learning Associates to foster the practice of building an ecosystem of mutual benefit and gratitude.

Firebirdian’s were encouraged to wear traditional outfit (saree or dhoti) and also to participate as a team in traditional contests such as drawing kolam, cooking sweet pongal, traditional sport like uriyadi, various cultural programs etc., that brought happiness and cherishment to the campus.”
