With the levels of change and constant disruption that we face in our world today, the benefit of developing our EQ is that it enables us to have happier, more meaningful, successful, and fulfilled lives.
Why Emotional Intelligence Is Important?
While the concept of EQ is not new, it has traditionally been followed by culture in our world. EQ is characterised by the intangible behaviour that helps manage people's emotions: taking different perspectives, being empathetic, being focused on human centricity, being socially aware, being flexible and adaptable, being transparent, being Friendly in nature, and being focused on building meaningful relationships. The philosophy differentiates between intelligence and intellect, with the latter being our ability to think, analyse, question, and reason in a way that exhibits control of our emotions.
Components of Emotional Intelligence:
""What Makes One Leader?"" A Leader should Understand one's emotions, feelings, and anxiety and summarise the key components of EQ quite effectively, including:
Self-Awareness: Through this Project, I learned how much I am aware of myself and how to get to know my peers first. The First thing is to understand that our self matters a lot. The ability to understand our triggers, challenges, values, emotions, honesty, how friendly we are about our capabilities and shortcomings, identifying what holds us back, and understanding the impact of our feelings on those around us.
Self-Regulation: Expressing oneself is not easy the deeper one's feelings, emotions like anger, anxiety, annoyance, etc. It's tough to understand someone; it's all-natural; however, Effective management of those emotions is where the ''intellect'' governs the ''mind.'' Self-regulation then includes self-control, trustworthiness, conscientiousness, taking responsibility, adaptability, and innovation in doing things right.

Self-motivation: Motivation, optimism, and commitment to our work contribute to long-term professional success. It is essential to be proactive, constantly upgrade ourselves, stay relevant, be commercially aware of people, and rely on ourselves to take our careers forward. That's the spirit of courageous people.
Empathy: Empathy is a key aspect of Emotional intelligence building as it requires a human-centric approach. Yes, Every human being is unique and innovative in nature. In our Project, every Person had their skills and ideas. We shouldn't judge someone by their appearance or gestures; bad leadership or sportsmanship fails to do so. Non-judgmental, being open to different perspectives, increased sensitivity, and accepting situations and people for who they are.
Social Skills: Whether it's an individual or group, how well a person is socialising. Developing good interpersonal skills forms a key component of Emotional intelligence building as we engage with various people across our work and life. These people come like a passing cloud. Everyone happens for a reason, but we learn things and develop our Interpersonal skills. That's where we are stepping into with self-motivation. These skills include active listening, high-impact communication, influencing others, handling conflicts and navigating difficult situations, relationship building, teamwork, and cooperation.
A leadership role should involve a 360-degree perspective on understanding People's interests, boundaries, and desires and trying to help them achieve them.
As a student, I understand that emotional intelligence plays a vital role in everyone's life.
"I strongly believe that this virtue will Take Me ahead in life and career".
